Overview: National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra (NIT Kurukshetra) is a premier public technical institute located in Kurukshetra, Haryana. The institute was established in 1963 as Regional Engineering College (REC), Kurukshetra, and was later upgraded to the status of a National Institute of Technology (NIT) in 2002. It is one of the Institutes of National Importance declared by the Government of India. NIT Kurukshetra functions under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, and is fully funded by the central government. The institute is known for its strong academic standards, research output, experienced faculty, and competitive student intake from across the country. Ranked 58th in Engineering by NIRF 2024, the institute recorded a highest package of ₹62.75 LPA and an average package of ₹14.16 LPA.
