Admission Procedure for Nepalese Citizens
Kathmandu University organizes the Kathmandu University Medical Entrance Test (KUMET) annually for Nepalese applicants. Selection is based on merit through centralized counseling conducted at Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS), Dhulikhel, Kavre, Nepal.
Admission Procedure for Foreign Nationals
Foreign candidates seeking admission to the MBBS/BDS programs at Kathmandu University must submit an online application along with scanned copies of their 12th-grade mark sheet and Citizenship/Passport. These applicants are also required to appear for the Central Entrance Examination.
Indian students are eligible to apply only if they have qualified NEET.
Academic Session
The MBBS program consists of 4½ years of academic study followed by a 1-year compulsory internship. The academic session commences in August every year. Admissions follow the regulations and criteria prescribed by Kathmandu University (KU).
KUMET is conducted each year in July/August, and both Nepalese and international candidates must clear this test. Admission is strictly on a merit basis according to KU guidelines. Original academic documents and proof of citizenship are mandatory at the time of enrollment.

Copy of the XII / A-Level mark sheet (official board-issued mark sheet or transcript; online printouts will not be accepted).

Passport page showing the candidate’s name and nationality. (For Indian candidates, Voter ID or Aadhaar can be accepted temporarily; however, a passport copy must be submitted at the time of admission.)

NEET / SAT scorecard of the current academic year, if applicable.
