Rajkiya Engineering College (REC), Azamgarh, formerly known as Manyawar Kanshiram Engineering College of Information Technology, was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2010. Initially, the college operated under the mentorship of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur, before transitioning to its fully functional independent campus. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and is a constituent college of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow.
