Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences

Established in 1910, SHUATS is one of India's oldest and most prestigious agricultural universities. Originally founded by Dr. Sam Higginbottom as the Allahabad Agricultural Institute, it was envisioned to bring modern scientific methods to Indian agriculture to "feed the hungry" and uplift the rural population. Over its 112-year history, the institution has evolved from a pioneering agricultural school into a multi-faculty Christian minority university. In 2016, it was officially reconstituted as a full-fledged University under the SHUATS Act passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature. Campus Infrastructure and Life Spread across a sprawling, lush green campus in Naini, Prayagraj, the university provides a vibrant residential environment.
