Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology

Established in 1989 by the Government of India, the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) is a premier technical institution located in Longowal, Sangrur, Punjab. Spanning a sprawling, lush green campus of 451 acres, it is often referred to as the "Modern Gurukul" of technical education. The institute serves as a tribute to the revered saint and political leader Harchand Singh Longowal, reflecting a vision of promoting technical excellence in a rural backdrop. SLIET holds the status of a Deemed-to-be-University (granted in 2007) and is fully funded by the Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD). It is unique for its integrated academic pattern, designed to cater to a 3-tier system of human resources: workers, technicians, and engineers.
