NMC eligibility standards
For students who have completed or plan to pursue an MBBS degree from Saratov State Medical University in Russia, it is important to follow the guidelines established by the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India. These rules ensure that foreign medical graduates are eligible to practice medicine in India after they return.
NMC Recognition and Eligibility

University Recognition: Saratov State Medical University is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), which is essential. This means Indian students who graduate from SSMU can take the medical licensing exams in India.

NEET-UG Requirement: To register with the NMC in India after graduation, you must have passed the NEET-UG exam before starting your MBBS at SSMU. Without a valid NEET-UG score, your medical degree from abroad won’t be accepted in India.

English Medium: The MBBS course at SSMU must be taught entirely in English. The NMC does not accept degrees from foreign universities where the course is taught partly in English and partly in the local language.
Post-Graduation Requirements

National Exit Test (NExT): After finishing your MBBS from SSMU, you must pass the NExT exam to get a license to practice medicine in India. NExT is a new two-part test that replaces the old Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE) and checks your clinical knowledge and skills.

Mandatory Internship: According to NMC rules, after passing NExT, you must complete a 12-month rotating medical internship in India at an NMC-approved hospital. This is required even if you already did an internship in Russia. It helps ensure you get supervised training in the Indian healthcare system.

Eligibility to Practice in Russia: The NMC also requires that you should be allowed to register as a medical practitioner in the country where you earned your degree before you can register to practice in India.
