Overview: Founded in 2001 in the eastern state of Odisha, India, SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, is known for its community of reputed and dedicated faculty, bright and talented students, and effective administration and support staff. The University Grants Commission (UGC) granted autonomous status to Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar for ten years from the 2018-2019 academic year, and it was upgraded to Silicon University, Odisha on 31 January 2024. Placed under Band 201-300 in the Engineering category in NIRF Rankings 2025, it is one of the twelve government/private universities & colleges in Odisha to have received this recognition. The Silicon Central Library spans 17,000 sq. ft. of air-conditioned space with a seating capacity for over 450 students, housing an extensive repository of 65,000 volumes and 10,000 unique titles. The lush 18.5-acre campus known as Silicon Hills features high-tech labs, 24/7 Wi-Fi, and the innovative "Sky Lab" outdoor learning zone.
