Sri Sukhmani Dental College & Hospital (SSDCH), located in Derabassi on the Chandigarh–Ambala–Delhi Highway, was founded in 2013 under the Sri Sukhmani Group of Institutes, which has been active in professional education since 1972. The institution is recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI), approved by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot. The college currently offers the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program with an annual intake of 100 students, following the DCI-approved curriculum. The program spans five years (four academic years plus one year of compulsory rotatory internship). During the first two years, students study basic medical sciences and dental anatomy, while clinical exposure begins in the third year. Students gain hands-on experience at the Sri Sukhmani Multispeciality Hospital within the campus, which includes a 100-bed hospital, modern operating theaters, and a 24-hour emergency clinic. SSDCH is distinguished by its 70-acre campus, featuring state-of-the-art dental clinics, digital classrooms, advanced laboratories, a mobile dental van, and a well-stocked computerized library. Hostel facilities are available for both male and female students, along with recreational amenities and green surroundings that foster a conducive learning environment. The institution emphasizes community outreach and preventive dentistry, aiming to achieve “zero cavity status” within a 40 km radius of its hospital. Regular dental camps, awareness drives, and health programs are organized to serve underprivileged populations.
