Govind Guru Tribal University (GGTU) is a state public university located in Village Badvi, Mahi Dam Road, Banswara – 327001, Rajasthan, India. GGTU was established in 2012 by an Act of the Government of Rajasthan (originally named Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University, then renamed to Govind Guru Tribal University). It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and its technical and professional programs are approved by regulatory bodies such as AICTE (Engineering / Technical), NCTE (Education), and BCI (Law) where applicable. GGTU holds a NAAC accreditation grade of B , reflecting its focus on quality higher education. The university is primarily aimed at expanding access to higher education, especially in tribal and underserved regions of southern Rajasthan. With jurisdiction over the districts of Banswara, Dungarpur, and Pratapgarh, GGTU operates through its main campus and numerous affiliated colleges offering a broad range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs. The campus environment includes libraries, laboratories, sports facilities, hostels or support for housing through nearby colleges, and IT infrastructure to support learning and research.
