Vananchal Dental College and Hospital (VDCH), located in Garhwa, Jharkhand, is a prominent institution dedicated to dental education and healthcare. Established in 2006 by the Vananchal Educational & Welfare Trust, the college is affiliated with Nilamber Pitamber University and recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI). It was founded with the aim of addressing the growing demand for dental professionals in the region and has since developed into one of the leading dental colleges in eastern India. The college offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in dentistry. The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program spans five years, which includes four academic years and a one-year compulsory rotating internship. The annual intake capacity for the BDS course is 100 students. For postgraduate education, the college offers the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) program in seven clinical specialties, with a total intake of 16 students per year. These specialties include Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontology, Oral Pathology and Microbiology, and Oral Medicine and Radiology.

VDCH is situated on a sprawling 100-acre campus, making it one of the largest dental college campuses in the state. The infrastructure is thoughtfully designed with separate buildings for academic and clinical activities. The college building houses lecture halls, a well-stocked library, an examination hall, and a large auditorium with a seating capacity of over 500. The hospital building is equipped with state-of-the-art dental equipment and facilities, ensuring that students receive extensive clinical exposure through a high volume of patient interactions. The institution places strong emphasis on academic excellence and practical training.
