Eligibility Criteria for BDS Admission
To be eligible for admission to the BDS program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualification:

Must have passed 10 2 or equivalent examination.

Core subjects should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.

Candidates from open schools or private study modes may not be eligible unless otherwise ruled by the courts.

Minimum Marks Requirement:
-
General Category: Minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.
-
SC/ST/OBC Categories: Minimum 40% aggregate in the same subjects.
-
PwBD Candidates: Minimum 40% aggregate as per NMC/DCI regulations.

Entrance Examination:

Must qualify the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Admission is strictly based on NEET rank and performance.

Age Requirement:

Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year.

Must be medically fit to pursue the course.

Admission Channels

State Quota (Government and Private Seats):

Managed by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

Candidates must register and participate in KEA’s centralized counseling.

Management/NRI Quota:
-
Also filled through KEA counseling.
-
NEET qualification is mandatory even for these quotas.

All India Quota (AIQ):
-
While Vydehi is primarily filled through KEA, AIQ seats are managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
