XLRI Jamshedpur Admission Process – PGDM Programs
Phase 1: Entrance Exam & Application

Mandatory Entrance Exam: Indian candidates must appear for the XAT. Foreign/NRI candidates, or those applying for the PGDM-General Management (GM) program, may apply through GMAT/GRE scores.

Application: Candidates must register separately for XLRI programs (BM, HRM, or GM) in addition to registering for the XAT.

Eligibility: A minimum of a three-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) . Final-year students are also eligible.
Phase 2: Shortlisting

Shortlisting is primarily based on the XAT score, with sectional and overall cut-offs applied differently for BM and HRM programs.

Cut-offs vary by gender and academic background (Engineer vs. Non-Engineer) to ensure diversity.
Phase 3: Final Selection Round

Group Discussion (GD) / Group Exercise (GE): Evaluates communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Personal Interview (PI): Assesses academic background, work experience, general awareness, career goals, and suitability for the program.

Final Merit List: Admission offers are based on a composite score with approximate weightages:

GD/PI Performance: 25%

Academic Profile, Essay, Work Experience, General Knowledge: 15%

XLRI XAT Cut-Offs:
XLRI publishes separate sectional and overall percentile cut-offs for BM and HRM programs. These vary by gender and academic stream.
