Eligibility

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) – Eligibility Criteria

Yenepoya Dental College offers a full-time BDS program with a duration of five years, including four years of academic study and one year of compulsory rotating internship. Admission is strictly based on performance in the NEET-UG examination and subsequent counseling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for Deemed Universities.

Academic Requirements

  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have passed the 10 2 / Pre-University examination or equivalent from a recognized board.

  • Subjects Required: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English must be core subjects.

  • Minimum Marks:

    • General Category: Minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

    • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC): Minimum 40% aggregate in the same subjects, as per applicable regulations.

Entrance Examination

  • NEET-UG: A valid score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) is mandatory.

  • Only candidates who qualify NEET-UG are eligible to participate in the centralized counseling process for admission to the BDS program.

Age Requirement

  • Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year.

 

Admission Process

  • Admission is conducted through MCC counseling for Deemed Universities.

  • Candidates must register on the MCC portal, fill in their choices, and participate in the seat allotment process.

  • Once allotted a seat, candidates must report to the college with original documents and complete the admission formalities, including fee payment.
