Eligibility Criteria
The criteria vary by course, but the following are standard for the B.Tech program at Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET).

Academic Qualifications: * 12th Standard: Must have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).

Diploma Holders: Candidates with a Diploma in Engineering from AMU or any recognized Polytechnic with at least 50% marks are also eligible.

Qualifying Examination: Admission is based on the AMUEEE 2026 (AMU Engineering Entrance Exam).

Cut-off Marks (Expected):

External Students: Generally requires a score above 70–80 marks (out of 150) for competitive branches like Computer Engineering.

Internal Students: Cut-off is lower, typically starting from 60 marks.

Age Limit: The upper age limit for B.Tech is 24 years as of July 1st of the admission year.

Reservations: Seats are reserved for Internal students (those who studied at AMU schools), Children of Alumni, Children of Employees, and candidates from backward states/regions (e.g., Jammu & Kashmir).

The process is entirely centralized through the Office of the Controller of Examinations.

Steps: Registration $\rightarrow$ Login $\rightarrow$ Update Profile $\rightarrow$ Upload Documents (Photo, Signature, Thumb Impression) $\rightarrow$ Apply for Course $\rightarrow$ Pay Fee.

Application Fees: * B.Tech: Approximately ₹1,000 (an additional late fee of ₹300 applies if submitted after the deadline).

Shortlisting & Selection:

Entrance Test: A 3-hour exam with 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on PCM.

Final Selection: Based on the rank in the entrance test. Selected candidates and those in the "Chance Memo" (waiting list) are called for online counseling.
