Step-by-Step Admission Process-

Admission to the Full-Time MBA program offered by the University Departments of Anna University (such as the College of Engineering, Guindy) and its affiliated colleges across Tamil Nadu is conducted primarily through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET), followed by centralized counselling managed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Tamil Nadu.

1. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the MBA program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Academic Qualification: A recognized bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years duration (10 2 3/4/5 years pattern).

• Minimum Marks:

  1. General Category: Minimum of 50% in the qualifying degree examination

  2. Reserved Category (BC, MBC, SC, SCA, ST of Tamil Nadu): Minimum of 45%

• Entrance Exam: Must have appeared and qualified in TANCET (MBA) conducted by Anna University.

• Final Year Students: Candidates currently in their final year/semester are eligible, provided they submit proof of graduation later.

2. Admission Process (Step-by-Step)

The admission process consists of four stages:

Step 1: TANCET Examination

• Register and apply for the TANCET exam via the official Anna University portal.

• Appear for the MBA entrance test, which evaluates Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Data Sufficiency, and General Knowledge.

Step 2: Scorecard & Rank List

• Anna University releases percentile scores and rank lists.

• Candidates must register separately for Tamil Nadu MBA/MCA Online Counselling (managed by DTE).

• A state-level rank list is prepared based on TANCET scores.

Step 3: Online Counselling & Choice Filling

• Pay the counselling fee (₹600 for General, ₹300 for reserved categories) and a refundable initial deposit (₹5,000 for General, ₹1,000 for reserved categories).

• Participate in online counselling, select preferred colleges (Anna University departments and affiliated colleges) and MBA specializations.

• Tentative seat allotment is published based on rank, preferences, and seat availability.

Step 4: Final Admission

• Confirm acceptance of the allotted seat and download the provisional allotment order.

• Report to the allotted college/department (e.g., College of Engineering, Guindy) with original documents.

• Pay the remaining tuition fee to secure admission.
