1. Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the MBA and MBA-IB (International Business) programs, candidates must meet the following academic requirements:

Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree (10 2 3 pattern) or a degree in specialized fields such as Engineering, Technology, Agriculture, Medicine, Education, or Law. Postgraduate degrees are also accepted.

Minimum Marks:
-
General/OBC/EWS: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in graduation.

SC/ST: Minimum 45% aggregate marks in graduation.

Entrance Exam: Appearance in the CAT exam is mandatory.

Final Year Students: Candidates appearing for their final year exams in 2026 are eligible to apply provisionally.
2. Admission & Selection Process
BHU uses a multi-stage process to prepare the final merit list.
Step 1: Shortlisting
Shortlisting is done solely on the basis of CAT scores. While the official cutoff varies annually, a "safe" target for General category candidates is typically 85 percentile and above.
Step 2: Selection Rounds
Candidates who meet the cutoff are invited for:

Group Discussion (GD): Conducted in physical mode at the institute.

Personal Interview (PI): Evaluation of communication, personality, and management aptitude.
Step 3: Final Merit Calculation
The final selection is based on a composite score with the following weightages:
