Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program at Buddha Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital, candidates must fulfill both academic and entrance examination criteria as outlined below:
NEET-UG Requirement
Admission to the BDS course is strictly based on merit obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). All applicants must appear for and qualify in NEET-UG, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Academic Qualification
Candidates must have successfully completed their 10 2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as mandatory subjects. English must be included as a core subject in the qualifying examination.
Minimum Marks Criteria
Applicants must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. However, relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks is provided for reserved categories:
- 40% aggregate for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).
- 45% aggregate for candidates from the General category who have a physical disability.
Age Requirement
Candidates must have attained the age of 17 years on or before December 31st of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit for appearing in NEET-UG.
These eligibility conditions are in accordance with the guidelines set by the Dental Council of India and the regulatory authorities overseeing medical and dental education in India.

Counseling and Admission Procedure
Admission to the BDS program is conducted through centralized counseling, managed by designated authorities based on seat quotas:

State Quota (85% of seats): Counseling is conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB).

All India Quota (15% of seats): The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) oversees counseling for these seats.
After qualifying NEET-UG, candidates must register for the relevant counseling process and indicate Buddha Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital as their preferred institution. Admission is finalized upon seat allotment, successful document verification, and payment of the prescribed fees.
