IIM Ahmedabad – PGP Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Post Graduate Program (PGP) at IIM Ahmedabad, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Qualifying Exam: Applicants must appear for the CAT. Overseas Indian candidates can apply with a valid GMAT score.

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.

• Relaxation: For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the minimum requirement is 45% marks or equivalent CGPA.

• Final Year Students: Those awaiting results may apply provisionally, provided they submit proof of graduation with required marks before the program begins.

PGP Admission Process

The selection process is conducted in two stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Shortlisting (AWT–PI Calls)

Candidates are shortlisted for the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) based on a Composite Score (CS):

The Application Rating (AR) is calculated out of 35 points, considering:

• Class 10th marks (A)

• Class 12th marks (B) – stream-specific

• Bachelor’s degree marks (C) – academic category-specific

• Work experience (D)

• Diversity factor (E) – bonus for non-male candidates

Candidates must meet both the minimum CAT cut-offs and the academic cut-offs in 10th, 12th, and graduation scores to be considered.

Stage 2: Final Selection (Merit List)

The Final Composite Score (FCS) is used to prepare the merit list, with the following weightages:

 PGP CAT Cut-Offs (Minimum Qualifying Percentile)

These are the minimum cut-offs required to be considered for shortlisting. Actual interview calls generally require much higher scores (often 99 percentile for General category).

Application Fee

PGP (via CAT): No separate application fee for IIM Ahmedabad’s PGP. The CAT registration fee itself covers all IIMs selected during the application.

•  ₹5,000 (IIMA Admission Test – IAT).
