Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad-(MICA)

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (in any discipline) from a recognized university.

• They must also have appeared in at least one of the following exams:

  • CAT (Common Admission Test)

  • XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

  • GMAT (taken from 2023 onwards)

MICAT – MICA’s Own Admission Test

All applicants must take MICAT, which is conducted twice a year:

• MICAT I: First Saturday of December

• MICAT II: Last Saturday of January Candidates can appear for both; the better score is considered.

MICAT consists of three sections:

1. Section A – Psychometric Test

2. Section B – Descriptive Test

3. Section C – Includes:

   • Divergent & Convergent Thinking

   • Verbal Ability

   • Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation

   • General Awareness

 Selection Process:

Admission is based on a three-stage process:

1. CAT/XAT/GMAT scores (50% weightage)

2. MICAT performance (50% weightage)

3. Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI)

To qualify:

• Candidates must clear the Psychometric Test (Section A).

• Then, their CAT/XAT/GMAT scores are considered.

• Those meeting the cutoff move to evaluation of Section C and then Section B of MICAT.

• Shortlisted candidates are invited for GE & PI.

 Key Dates for 2025–2026

• MICAT I: December 7, 2024

• MICAT II: January 25, 2025

• XAT 2026 Exam: January 4, 2026

• CAT 2025 Exam: November 30, 2025

• MICAT II Scorecard Release: February 14, 2025.
