Admission
Eligibility Criteria To apply for the BDS program, candidates must have completed their 10 2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required for general category students, while reserved category candidates (SC/ST) need at least 45%. Additionally, candidates must be qualified in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), which is mandatory for admission to all dental colleges in India.
Entrance Examination: NEET-UG is the sole entrance exam for BDS admissions. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), it assesses students on their knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The scores obtained in NEET determine the merit ranking and eligibility for counseling.
Counseling & Seat Allotment: Admissions are facilitated through centralized counseling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh, for state quota seats. Candidates must register on the official counseling portal, fill in their preferences, and participate in the seat allotment rounds. Based on NEET scores and seat availability, students are allotted colleges, including Rungta College, under the state quota or All India Quota.
Document Verification & Reporting: Once a seat is allotted, candidates must report to the college within the stipulated time frame to complete admission formalities. Required documents typically include:
-
NEET scorecard and admit card
-
Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates
-
Caste certificate (if applicable)
-
Domicile certificate
-
Passport-sized photographs
-
Identity proof
