Eligibility

To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program, candidates must meet specific criteria related to age, academic qualifications, and entrance examination performance.

Age Requirement: Applicants must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31st of the year in which admission is sought.

Academic Qualification: Candidates must have successfully passed the 10 2 examination or its equivalent, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as core subjects. English must also be included in the curriculum.

Minimum Marks-

  • For candidates in the General category, a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology is required.

  • For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), the minimum aggregate requirement is relaxed to 40%.

Entrance Examination All candidates must appear for and qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET-UG), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). A valid NEET score meeting the prescribed cutoff is mandatory for admission, regardless of whether the candidate is applying under government, management, or NRI quota.

These eligibility standards ensure that students admitted to the BDS program possess the academic foundation and aptitude necessary for rigorous dental education and clinical training.
