Established in 1917 by the legendary Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bengaluru is the first engineering college in Karnataka and the fifth in India. Recently transitioned into an Autonomous State University modeled after the IITs, UVCE is located at K.R. Circle in the heart of the city, with an additional campus at Jnana Bharathi.
