Admission

Admission Process for BDS at CODS

1. NEET-UG Qualification Admission to the BDS program begins with appearing for and qualifying the NEET-UG exam, which is the sole entrance test accepted for dental courses across India.

2. Counseling Registration Once NEET results are declared, candidates must register for centralized counseling. For CODS, a private institution, admissions are managed through two channels:

  • Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for state quota seats.

  • Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for all-India quota seats under Deemed or Central Universities.

3. Choice Filling and Seat Allotment During the online counseling process, candidates can list CODS among their preferred colleges. Seat allocation is determined by NEET rank, category, and seat availability.

4. Document Verification and Final Admission Candidates who are allotted a seat must report to CODS with all original documents for verification. Upon successful verification and fee payment, the admission is finalized.

NEET Cut-Off Guidelines

The NEET cut-off for BDS admissions varies each year based on factors such as exam difficulty, number of applicants, and seat availability. Private dental colleges like CODS typically have more flexible cut-off ranges compared to government institutions.

Here’s an approximate range of NEET scores that may be considered for admission into private dental colleges:

Category Expected NEET Score Range
General 250 – 400 marks
OBC 200 – 350 marks
SC/ST 150 – 350 marks

These figures are indicative and may shift depending on the overall performance of candidates and seat demand in a given year. For the most accurate and current information, refer to official updates from MCC and KEA during the counseling period.
