Postgraduate Programs (MDS):

  • Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge

  • Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

  • Oral Pathology and Microbiology

  • Periodontology

  • Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics

  • Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry

  • Oral Medicine and Radiology

Other Courses Offered at GDCH

1. Certificate Courses and Short-Term Training

  • GDCH occasionally offers certificate programs and clinical training modules in areas such as:

    • Dental radiology

    • Oral hygiene techniques

    • Basic life support (BLS) for dental professionals

  • These are typically designed for interns, junior residents, or continuing education for practicing dentists.

2. Internship Program (Compulsory for BDS)

  • A one-year paid rotating internship is mandatory for all BDS students.

  • Interns rotate through all nine dental specialties and community dentistry units, gaining hands-on experience in patient care and public health outreach.

3. Research and Dissertation Projects

  • Postgraduate students (MDS) are required to undertake research projects and dissertations as part of their academic curriculum.

  • GDCH supports research through access to clinical cases, laboratory facilities, and mentorship from senior faculty.

4. Community Dentistry Outreach Programs

  • Though not formal degree programs, GDCH runs field-based training and mobile dental clinics as part of its public health initiatives.

  • These programs are integrated into the curriculum and provide practical exposure to rural and underserved populations.

 

While GDCH does not currently offer paramedical or allied health degrees like dental hygiene or dental mechanics, its core focus remains on comprehensive dental education through BDS and MDS, supplemented by clinical training and outreach.
