It is rightly said “Education and Knowledge provide a good co-ordination between ones mind and soul.” It is my proud privilege to be assuming the role of Dean, GDCH, Ahmedabad. Established in 1963, the college has garnered a reputation for academic and scientific excellence and achievements that rival that of previously established institutes of higher learning. The mission of this institute is to educate and impart knowledge to its students, train them in the clinics and thereby render good service and care to the patients. In short we are all about INCREASING ACCESS access to education and quality patient care. Our Institute provides undergraduate (BDS) as well as post graduate (MDS) courses to the students which are nationally recognized. Recently Ph.D course also started at this institution. The institute has a daily OPD of more than 400 from Gujarat as well as neighboring states and provides quality treatment to them. Government Dental College and Hospital (GDCH), Ahmedabad is one of India’s most prestigious public dental institutions, renowned for its academic excellence, clinical training, and research contributions in the field of dentistry. GDCH offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in dental sciences. The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is a five-year program including a one-year compulsory internship, while the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) spans three years and includes specializations such as Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontology, Oral Medicine & Radiology, and Oral Pathology. Admission to these programs is strictly merit-based, determined by national entrance exams, NEET-UG for BDS and NEET-MDS for postgraduate studies. Candidates must participate in centralized counseling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota or the Admission Committee for Professional Medical Courses (ACPUGMEC) for state quota seats.

The college is located within the Civil Hospital Campus in Ahmedabad, offering students access to a large patient base and extensive clinical exposure.
