Post-Graduation Practice Eligibility for SSMU Graduates
To practice medicine in India or internationally, graduates of Stavropol State Medical University must first satisfy the specific licensing and registration criteria of that country.
To Practice in India
To work as a doctor in India after graduating from Stavropol State Medical University, you need to meet several requirements. First, you must have cleared the NEET-UG exam before you even started your MBBS course in Russia. This is a must-have for your degree to be recognized back home.
After you graduate, you'll need to pass the National Exit Test (NExT). This exam is a new rule by the NMC, and it's essential for getting your medical license and applying for postgraduate studies in India. You also have to complete a one-year internship at an approved hospital in India, even if you did one in Russia. The NMC also requires that you're eligible to practice medicine in Russia itself.
To Practice Outside India
If you want to practice medicine in another country, you need to follow their specific rules. You'll have to make sure that Stavropol State Medical University is recognized by the medical board of that country.
After that, you must pass their specific licensing exams. For example, you'd take the USMLE for the USA, the PLAB for the UK, or the MCCQE for Canada. Depending on the country, you might also need to complete more internships, residency programs, or language tests.
