Overview
Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay Government Medical College & Hospital, located in Uluberia, Howrah district, West Bengal, is a newly established institution currently being developed under Phase II of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS). It stands as the only medical college in the district, playing a crucial role in expanding healthcare education in the region.
The college commenced its academic journey with an annual intake of 100 MBBS students, with its first batch admitted in the 2022–23 session, followed by the second batch in 2023–24.

This government medical college is named in honor of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, the iconic Bengali novelist and short story writer of the early 20th century, renowned for his immense contribution to Bengali literature and his enduring popularity among readers.
