Tamralipto Government Medical College & Hospital

Tamralipto Government Medical College & Hospital was established as part of the Government of India’s Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) – Phase II, following an initiative by the Government of West Bengal to expand access to medical education. The college is located in the heart of Tamluk, the district headquarters of Purba (East) Medinipur, and is situated on the Haldia-Tamluk-Mecheda Road, adjacent to the Tamluk District Hospital. Spanning over 25 acres, the campus is strategically positioned to serve the region effectively.

Set to begin operations with an initial intake of 100 MBBS students in the academic session 2022–2023, the institution is currently awaiting final approval from the National Medical Commission (NMC). Admissions will be conducted through NEET-UG counseling—both at the all-India and state levels—in accordance with the established norms and reservation policies.
