Admission
BDS Admission Process (Historical Overview)
Admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program at AECS Maaruti College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre has historically followed a structured process based on national and state-level regulations.
NEET Qualification: Candidates were required to qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate Courses (NEET-UG), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This served as the primary entrance examination for dental admissions across India.
Academic Eligibility: Applicants needed to have completed their 10 2 or equivalent education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects. A minimum aggregate of 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology was required for candidates in the General category, while those belonging to SC/ST categories were eligible with a minimum of 40 percent.
Counselling Process: Admissions were conducted through centralized counselling:
-
For State Quota seats, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) managed the process.
-
For All India Quota (AIQ) and Deemed University seats, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) oversaw counselling.
Seats were allocated under various quotas, including Government Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota, based on NEET-UG rank and category.
Document Verification and Fee Payment Candidates who were allotted seats had to complete admission formalities, which included verification of academic and identity documents, followed by payment of the applicable tuition and other fees.
NEET UG Cut-off Criteria
Admission to the BDS program was strictly merit-based, determined by NEET-UG scores and ranks. The qualifying percentile and expected marks range for NEET 2025 are as follows:
