Overview
Ramaiah College of Law (formerly M.S. Ramaiah College of Law, MSRCL) in Bangalore was established in 1995 by the Gokula Education Foundation under the visionary Dr. M.S. Ramaiah, aiming to create a centre of excellence in legal studies . Affiliated with Karnataka State Law University and approved by the Bar Council of India (also recognized by UGC and NAAC), it offers rigorous integrated and postgraduate programs including B.A. LL.B, BBA LL.B, B.Com LL.B, LL.M, as well as Ph.D., diploma, and certificate courses .
The college operates from a well-equipped urban campus within the MSRIT premises on New BEL Road. Its facilities include smart classrooms, a moot court hall, a library (10,000+ volumes), legal-aid clinic, computer labs, separate hostels, auditorium, cafeteria, medical centre, bank, and post office . The campus emphasizes practical learning through moot competitions, internships, workshops, legal clinics, and interactions with guest faculty from the judiciary and legal profession .
Admissions are primarily merit-based, considering CLAT scores or 10+2 marks (minimum 45%), with interviews for postgraduate programs . The college has earned national recognition, ranking within India’s top private law schools: 2nd in CSR–GHRDC 2021, 10th by India Today 2021, and 17th in India Today 2024 .
