DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING, RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY, ITANAGAR
Overview
The department has its roots in the International Centre for Ecological Engineering (ICEE), which was established at the University of Kalyani in 2003. ICEE was created in collaboration with the International Ecological Engineering Society (IEES), Switzerland, to address environmental degradation through research, training, and extension activities. Recognizing the need for a professional academic track, the university formally created the Department of Environmental Management in 2010 to offer postgraduate degrees that combine ecological science with engineering solutions. Infrastructure and Placements The department provides a robust learning environment with ICT-enabled classrooms and specialized laboratories equipped for water, soil, and air quality analysis. Students are exposed to industrial field visits and hands-on laboratory sessions to prepare them for the job market. Graduates typically find placement in national and international environmental consultancy firms, government pollution control boards, industrial health and safety (EHS) departments, and international NGOs.
