Eligibility: * Candidates must have a science stream background at the Higher Secondary (10 2) level.

Undergraduate Degree: Bachelor’s degree with Honours (10 2 3 system) in subjects such as Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Nutrition, Environmental Science, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Microbiology, Anthropology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science.

Alternative Degrees: B.A. (Hons) in Geography or Economics; or B.Sc. (Hons) in Agricultural Science, Horticulture, Sericulture, Fisheries Science, Aquaculture Management, or Veterinary Science.

Admission Criteria: Admission is typically based on an Entrance Test conducted by the University followed by a merit list.

Seat Intake: Approximately 35–39 seats.

Reservation: 80% of seats are reserved for students from the University of Kalyani (Home University), and 20% are for candidates from other universities.
1. Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualifications: * B.Tech: Candidates must have passed 10 2 with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). Mathematics or Statistics must be a compulsory subject.

M.Tech: Requires a B.E./B.Tech degree in CSE/IT or an MCA/M.Sc in Computer Science with at least 55% aggregate marks.

Qualifying Examination: Admission to undergraduate programs is primarily through the CUET (Common University Entrance Test). For M.Tech, the RGUCET (RGU Common Entrance Test) or a valid GATE score is required.

CUT-OFF MISSING , RELAXATION MISSING(ADDED)

Cut-off Marks: While specific cut-offs vary annually based on CUET percentiles, generally, a score in the 75–85 percentile range is required for General category students in competitive branches like CSE.

Relaxation: As per Central Government norms, a 5% relaxation in minimum marks is provided for SC/ST and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.
2. M.Tech. in Environmental Management

Eligibility: M.Sc. in any science discipline, M.C.A., or a B.Tech./B.E. degree from a recognized university or institute.

Selection: Preference is often given to GATE qualified candidates. If seats remain vacant, candidates may be selected through a departmental entrance test or interview.
3. Certificate Course (Short-term)
The department offers a Six-Month Certificate Course in "Water and Soil Quality Monitoring and Environmental Management."

Eligibility: Graduate degree in any discipline of Science, Engineering, or Technology.

Selection: Based on merit or as recommended by the university authority.

Special Provision: In-service candidates are also eligible to apply, and there is typically no age limit.
