Visa Registration
Step-by-Step Visa Application Guide
1. Obtain an Invitation Letter
Begin by securing an official Invitation or Admission Letter from Tbilisi State Medical University. This document confirms your enrollment and is a critical requirement for your visa application.
2. Prepare Required Documents
Gather all necessary paperwork, including:
-
A valid passport
-
The university’s Invitation Letter
-
Proof of financial resources to cover tuition and living costs
-
A medical fitness certificate
-
Educational certificates, duly apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India
3. Apply for a D3 (Study) Visa
Submit your application for a D3 visa—a long-term study visa—via the official Georgian visa portal or through a recognized visa service provider like VFS Global. The process typically starts online, followed by an in-person submission of physical documents.
4. Visa Processing Timeline
The standard processing time for a D3 visa is approximately 30 calendar days. To avoid last-minute issues, it’s advisable to apply well ahead of your intended travel date.
Post-Arrival: Residence Permit Registration
1. Understand Visa Validity
The D3 visa allows a single entry and is valid for 90 days. To legally reside in Georgia for the full duration of your MBBS program, you must apply for a temporary residence permit.
2. Apply at Public Service Hall (PSH)
Within 45 days of arriving in Georgia, visit a Public Service Hall to initiate your residence permit application.
3. University Support
The international student office at the university will assist you with the application process. You’ll need to provide:
-
A letter from the university confirming your student status
-
Official translations and notarizations of all foreign-language documents, including your passport, into Georgian
